Write the words that make people feel something, and help them pick their favourite night out.
WHY THIS ROLE EXISTS
Most ticketing platforms sound like ticketing platforms. Event names, dates, prices, a button that says buy now. That's not us.
We're building a brand people follow because they want to. A discovery experience that feels like a friend with great taste. A bot with a personality that's come back from the future just to get you off your couch.
None of that works without the right words, in the right voice, at the right moment. A caption that makes someone stop scrolling. A push notification that doesn't feel like a push notification. An artist page that turns a stranger into someone who wants to be in the room.
This isn't a brief, draft, four rounds of feedback, ship in three weeks kind of role. You'll be in the work every day, writing across formats, owning the voice, and making the calls on what thumpN sounds like.
WHAT YOU’LL ACTUALLY DO
Brand & Platform Voice - Own how thumpN sounds
Write across every consumer-facing touchpoint: captions, push notifications, in-app copy, email subject lines, event descriptions, artist pages, and anything else that needs words
Hold the brand voice consistently across all platforms
Be the person the team comes to when something needs to sound right and there is no time to workshop it
Campaign & Event Copy - Make events feel unmissable
Write launch copy for events across genres : music concerts, comedy shows, electronic music festivals, lifestyle experiences, sports - each one sounding like it was written for that specific audience, not adapted from a template
Build artist pages that make someone who has never heard of an act want to see them live - not a biography, a feeling
Write urgency without defaulting to countdown timers and "only X tickets left" - find the line that makes someone move without making them feel manipulated
Internal & Operational Copy - Keep the team sharp
Write briefs, internal communications, and stakeholder-facing documents that are clear and direct - no corporate filler, no hedging
Support the marketing team with copy for partnership decks, campaign one-pagers, and anything that needs to represent ThumpN to the outside world
WHAT YOU BRING
Required
4–5 years of copywriting experience, ideally across brand, digital, and campaign work rather than purely performance or purely editorial
A demonstrable point of view on what good writing sounds like, not just technically correct, genuinely alive
Experience writing in someone else's voice and keeping it consistent across formats and contexts
Comfort working fast without sacrificing quality - in a startup at this stage, both matter
A portfolio that shows range - different tones, different formats, different audiences
Preferred
Experience in consumer apps, entertainment, media, or a category where the product has a cultural dimension
Exposure to writing for CRM channels - push notifications, WhatsApp, email - where brevity and tone do the heaviest lifting
Someone who goes to events, follows music or comedy or culture, and brings genuine taste to the work rather than just craft
NON-NEGOTIABLES
You write to be read, not to be approved. If your instinct is to make copy safe rather than make it good, we will quickly be misaligned.
You can hold two voices simultaneously. thumpN and Shadow are distinct - warm and curious versus cheeky and future-displaced. Letting them blur is a failure mode this role cannot afford.
You are fast without being careless. A small team moving at speed means copy cannot be a bottleneck. You will need to make judgment calls, ship, and iterate - not wait for the perfect brief.
You can write short. The hardest thing in this job is not the long-form, it is the six-word push notification that makes someone unlock their phone and buy a ticket. If your portfolio skews long, be ready to show us the short.
