Video Editor
Video Editor
Cut for the two seconds that decide whether someone stays or scrolls.
Why This Role Exists
Live entertainment deserves best visuals
thumpN's stage isn't only physical, it's every feed a fan scrolls before they decide to show up. The content you cut is often the first moment someone encounters a lineup, and the difference between a scroll-past and a saved post comes down to your timeline.
You'll own video end to end: short-form social, long-form brand films, motion assets, and in-app animations. You edit for retention, design for scroll-stop, and ship fast without cutting corners on craft.
What You'll Actually Do
Real responsibilities, not a wish list
Social and campaign content
Own video end to end: short-form social, long-form brand films, motion assets, in-app animations.
Edit for retention, design for scroll-stop, and ship fast without cutting corners on craft.
Turn raw footage and briefs into content that performs, not just content that looks good in a portfolio.
Brand and product motion
Bring a sharp eye for pacing, colour grading, sound design, and visual storytelling.
Treat typography in motion with intent: text on screen should feel dynamic, not added on top.
Know why a 3 second cut hits harder than a 5 second one, and build every edit around that instinct.
Production and collaboration
Pitch formats before they peak, and remix trends instead of copying them.
Care about the two seconds after someone sees your content as much as the content itself.
Treat AI as another tool in the stack: build a workflow around it, or actively figure one out.
What You Bring
Specific experience, not vague credentials
Required
3+ years editing for creators, agencies, or social-first brands.
A clear grasp of hooks, pacing, and storytelling built for scroll-first platforms.
A track record of content that grew channels and converted viewers, not just content that looked good.
Sharp eye for pacing, colour grading, sound design, and visual storytelling.
Strong sense of typography in motion.
Preferred
Experience in events, music, nightlife, or entertainment.
Working knowledge of Blender, Rive, or Lottie.
Basic sound design or audio editing skills.
A defined (or evolving) workflow for using AI as part of your editing process.
Non-Negotiables
How we know this is the right fit
You edit for the scroll, not just the screen. Retention is the metric that matters here. If the hook doesn't land in the first second, the craft after it doesn't get seen.
You ship fast without cutting corners. Speed and quality aren't a trade-off you get to make. thumpN's content calendar doesn't wait, and neither does craft.
You pitch formats before they peak. Trends move fast in live entertainment. You're not remixing what already worked, you're finding what's next.
You treat AI like any other tool in your stack. Whether you've built a workflow around it or you're actively figuring one out, you show up with intent, not resistance.
